recording help
Can someone tell me what is the cheapest and best software for my pc Ineed something with multi tracks fairly easy to use and with effects I need some expert advice I am no recording xpert thanks

You will need an interface unit for instruments and mic's, if you don't have a mixer. The PC sound cards need a higher signal level (e.g. line level) and won't work or work correctly with an instrument level. Mic's the same way, the level from a P.A. type mic is about 1/100 of what a "computer" mic is.
If you have a mixer, you can use the stereo "Line in" on a sound card for two channel recording. If you want more than two channels then you will have to buy a multi-channel interface and what type depends on your PC and it's capabilities.

Thanks guys with biab can I record just my musicians or do I have to use biab instruments we do have a mixer and everything that goes with it I dont wish to add any Instruments just use this program to record and mix our music We went to a studio the other day I could not tell any difference in a cd that i made using a mini disc and a mixer thanks
