we stopped watching several weeks ago..
The band is excellent for sure..some of the talent is good as well...
the judges..YUK for sure..that one guy, the left over hippy supposed world re-known songwriter..., I personally think he is trying to steal the whole show with his Simon impersonation. He stinks, the songs he sings stink, he's not even as good as some of the talent on the show..This show is HIS claim to fame..or at least he's attempting to make it that..
"Let me tell you what I think, here's the way it is, listen to what I'm saying, here's what I need to hear from you, this is what I'm looking for"
barf barf barf...
The young girl probably has the best opportunity to get anything out of this show..but she is NOT a Miranda Lambert or a Buddy Jewel..she is gonna need a serious top producer and a TOP 10 tune right out of the gate or she will just become part of the landscape with all the others who tried and now work at the Waffle House.
but in the scheme of things, I'm on the TV tube side of the TV show...
what do I know..

"Nashville Star, not Country Star" That pretty much nails it.
I thought that Jaylon kid was the real deal. One can only imagine just where he could go with that voice. I couldn't help but to think that Anastasia influenced his demise with all of her mockeries about his faith. That was flat-out discrimination in my book. But, it seems like that's acceptable these days unless it come from the other side.
The cowboy, while he's got a good voice is about as Sears and Roebuck Cowboy as you can get on stage. He might be a real cowboy, but he looked like he seemed like he would sell out his own mom to win the nomination.
The girl has the best chance of really making it of all who are left. All the best have been weeded out now.

I agree completely about the judges, they're pathetic. I watched three episodes and by the third one I found myself using the mute button every time the judges started to speak. That long haired songwriter...it looks like he riles a lot of people because he hasn't got a shirt left that someone hasn't torn the sleeves off of.

Oh, he's a songWRITER. That explains why he is flat as a board every time he opens his mouth. Anastacia Brown? Did she exist somewhere before this show? Jayron, if you are listening out there somewhere, quit. You have done just fine with your singing AND your faith up till you met that panel full of losers. Go on, make your mark on this world. We love you! BTW, what happened to Leann?

Bret Michaels, a songwriter? I didn't know he was a songwriter now. That long haired songwriter...it looks like he riles a lot of people because he hasn't got a shirt left that someone hasn't torn the sleeves off of.
His claim to fame is being the singer from the '80's LA glam rock band "Poison".
I have NO idea how he got on a Nashville show.

Brett Michaels used to be this punk kids who would chase our band around wanting to open for us. He was an obnoxious punk back then and he hasn't changed much. He couldn't sing in tune then and he still can't. We all wanted to give up we he actually made it. It was like waking up to a nightmare. But, now he's a talent judge??? Sheeeesh!!!!

My wife and I watched the first season of American Idol and really enjoyed it. We watched a few shows the first season of Nashville Star and didn't like it. Sounds as if it's gotten even worse, which doesn't surprise me. We can't get it on TV anymore and can't say we miss it. Give me Kelly Clarkson any day.

I like the rockabilly dude. He sounded awful the night they had to come up with their own songs---but so did most ALL the contestants. He's gonna be too far "out" for the show, the hat guy is, well, A FREAKIN" HAT GUY, and the girl is OK, but she's missing something...
As far as Brett Michaels, remember, he DID front a band that was more successful than most of us, and he was probably given advice along the lines of,"Bring it---Make me feel it---Give it to me." And apparently it worked, at least for a while.
What about Phil Vassar? every other word is "GREAT!" Be OK if he was selling frosted flakes----which, come to think of it, may be what this show is all about.

What was the name of the "Star" who won last year? .....Bret Williams "song writer"? Ok that explains most the crap coming out of Nashville. How is his mike stand twirling? That is how to judge a "big " act nowadays.Good vocals Ok but not necessary.

The one thing I seem to get out of all these "reality" shows (Nashville Star, American Idol, The Apprentice, Survivor, etc.) is that the contestants are chosen because they will be "good TV" not because they are the most competent.
ie, it's not reality, just entertainment trying to disguise itself as reality.

Nashville celebrities (the new ones) seem to get more and more "cartoonish" every year.
