For a second there I thought the link would be an eBay ad, then I realized at that asking price it would probably be for a Sho-Bud Maverick.

First thing I would do is strip it down to natural ( aka. John Lennon) and add a Bigsby Palm Pedal and maybe add some value to this non-pedal axe..

LOL Herb, and Tony.
It's a "Buy It Now" price, but doesn't say if a case is included.

If the one owner was Buddy Holly then it would be worth about as much as Maybelle's L5.

One of the DJ's here in Atlanta was talking about a lot of Johnny Cash memoribillia (?) going up for sale, as opposed to being donated or lent to the Country Music Hall of Fame. It seems like a shame to me. May be true for this guitar as well.

Buddy Holly played a Fender Stratocaster guitar with Waylon Jennings back in the '50s.

In regards to the Cash stuff that will be auctioned by Sotheby's, Kathy Cash has said that her dad had started planning for the after June's death. The family members got a number of choice items that had personal meaning, but the rest he wanted auctioned off. She also said that he did not want to re-open House of Cash as a museum or have any museum because it was too egotistical.

Jennings...that '56 Strat would be worth about 15 grand if it's the blond finish, and about 8 grand in the sunburst.

My curiosity caused me to search for and find an inflation calculator.
http://www.westegg.com/inflation/

$275 - 1928 = $2,731.96 in 2003 dollars.

A great investment for her, but a priceless investment for all who love country music.

Here's hoping that we all choose to invest as wisely as Maybelle Carter.

(Geeze, I don't make this stuff up, 'ya know!)

Anyhow, you can check the "Official Vintage Guitar Price Guide", and the "Blue Book of Guitar Values". Both of them List a blond Strat being available in '56.

Or...you could ask Brad Gillis to show you his!

I've seen 5 or 6 of them (blond Strats) sell in the past year, priced from $7k to over $14k.
