Anyone heard them yet ?? Any comments ??

Chas.... I'm thinking this may be something you'd be interested in; old instruments playing modern music with a touch of the orient.

Regards, Paul

Some of you may find the instrument known as "gu zheng" interesting. It is a harp that is played on a stand leveled like a steel guitar. I think it has about 22 strings or so and is tuned to a D69 chord.

The first string is the lowest note instead of the highest note. They can bend the strings behind the nut. Each string has it's own individual nut. Some of the musicians play it with fingerpicks on both hands.
In the right hands, it is a very expressive instrument.

Actually, tho not country, that's pretty good music. It's recorded and mixed quite well I thought.

No Mo Blondes for me ! Roy !! There for awhile I thought I was the Lone Ranger on this one. But I'm on to bigger and newer things....I'm trying to find an album with Tony Bennett and Elmo singing togeather. Caleb heard it on monday at a Burger Kings in Ft Valley. When we went back friday, he was asking me where it was and I couldn't explain Musak to him.

He has a cousin named Tony; Echeekonee Tony as he calls him after a creek nearby where I live and he thinks that his cousin did the vocals with Mo-Mo !

I recall going to a New Year's Eve party near Tokyo, last century and being not to loaded on Saki to watch a young lady playing a Koto. It had movable bridges under the strings for key selections and the strings were also pressed down with her fingers to make PSG sound alikes. Veryeee Interestinggg !

Regards, Paul
