RFD TV-Country Carnival

Post by Jason Powers »

I have been enjoying the RFD TV channel recently with the stuff from the Willie Nelson library and have even managed to get a few on tape. The commercials say the shows include "Country Carnival" and "Gospel Jubilee" My question is have they shown either of these yet? I have yet to see either of these on there and I can't find them on their schedule. If they are showing them already, what time(s)? I am in the Central time zone. Thanks in advance Jason

Jason, I have not seen those shows on RFD nor have I seen them advertised on their schedule. On the commercial they do list those two shows but they have not been aired. I have seen the "Wilburn Brothers","Porter Wagoner" and "Pop Goes The Country" as well. I press the guide button every day but have not found the other two shows. Maybe this month they will start.

I read a previous post on here that stated Direct TV would be getting RFD TV June first . Well, I found RFD on Direct TV channel 379 . It is only showing all types of farm reports , and things to do with farming only . The RFD does not have "TV" behind it's name so I guess it is the wrong channel ?? Can anyone tell me if they have been able to get RFD TV on their
Direct TV program /s ? I sure would enjoy seeing some REAL traditional country programs I use to watch long ago .

Thanks !

John

I sent an email to RFD TV this morning and got a timely response. It says to keep checking the program schedule as "Country Carnival" and "Gospel Jubilee" will be added soon!!!

I saw the Country Carnival show on a saturday night around the first of May.The first 30 Minutes was the Billy Walker show, followed By the Del Reeves Segment.I haven!t seen any more since then.I am very interested in these shows, as I was a member of the Tennessee Walkers with Billy Walker, at that time. I understand they are going to show all the shows, just don!t know when.If anyone has anymore info on this, please post as I would like to tape them. Thanks, Max

I hope that someday, those of us who have the "big dish"..such as myself"..will be able to get this channel as I would love to once again see those old shows! But it's probably my luck; the programmers of RFD TV probably won't sell to the big dish! I used to see some of those shows back when the Outlaw Channel was still up. I also remember watching The Porter Waggoner Show when it was still in syndication; one of the Washington D.C. television stations aired the show on Saturday evenings for a good while.

For Max Williamson and everyone else too, according to the "week's content" page on www.rfdtv.com they will start showing "Country Carnival" on Wednesday of this week hosted by Billy Walker with guests the Osborne Brothers and Bob Barnett.
