I would think that the holy grail would be his '48 Bigsby T-8.

Now sadly, with Speedy's passing, it'll be interesting to see where this goes. Long live Speedy West!

Seriously, what would you take into the studio, that little thing, or a Bigsby?

The Bigsby is the Holy Grail, although the twin neck lap has definately got value for West collectors.

This guitar deserves to be in the Autry Museum or the Country Music HoF. I hope this gets a good home. Maybe in Manny's Millenery - Corporate World Headquaters

Not a lot of bidding, but somebody's serious, as it's over 12 hunert. Of course Speedy's Bigsby is his HG, but who even knew this thing existed?

What the guy says about this guitar is true. Those of you that met Speedy know that he had a great memory. He could recall to the day when he got that guitar, and how he brought it to LA. It's a very important guitar in the history of Steels, Western Swing, LA and Post WWII Americana in general. It would be really great to see it restored and on display in the Autry Museum. It would be a great tribute to a great man.

No, it didn't go for 1900, it reach that figure but not the reserve price... unless the seller accepts that amount. Still, that guitar has star provenance out the wazoo! Mike Black nailed it. Hall of Fame guitar.

Thanx Herb, my mistake. I assumed before looking fully. Maybe now I still have a chance. (Ha!)

I hope this piece of history goes to a museum of some sort... But it would be a gas to play this and absorb the mojo.

Old Speedy would probably hate my fumbling and haunt me forever. Off to a nice museum rest, I sincerely hope.
