| It was definitely enjoyment! Beautiful harmonics, too! Amazing what that little thing can do. You must have cleaned up the hiss, because I didn't notice any. Are those units easy to use? I've been trying to do a digital set up and just haven't got it "right" yet. So you recorded everything seperately through the panasonic mic, which was plugged directly into the recorder? Which steel did you use? |

Absolutely beautiful Jeff. You've definitely got the touch on the steel. Nice arrangement, good recording quality, excellent musicianship.
BTW you don't need a metronome on the next recording. Your timing "breathes" in a very natural way.
How can such a young guy sound so old? (that's a compliment).

I loved every second of it,- beautiful melody and playing!
And don't forget that Bruce Springsteen recorded 'Nebraska' on a 4-track cassette deck (although he mixed it in a 'proper' studio).
There's also used 4-track digital recorders to be found real cheap should you ever feel the need to 'upgrade'.

The Uke rhythm intrigues me also. The players around here ( when they play ) don't sound like that?
Are they four string Jeff and how are you tuning it?

Altho I havn't heard the track yet, I've been lucky to watch Jeff's fine progress over the short time he's been involved with the steel, and am glad he's young and dedicated to the instrument, and great Hawaiian music in general. We've had lots to enjoy so far, and much to look forward to, as he's certainly got the chops and influences. Keep knockin' us dead, Jeff! |

It takes a while to download, but well worth the wait. Beautiful playing, Jeff. It sounds like an old 78, but without the scratches! None of that annoying high frequency artifacting that you hear on most MP3 files.

This very beautiful tune finally downloaded but seemed to load in a different way than I am used to.???
