Awesome, Roy!
The Girl from Impanema has always been one of my favorite songs!
I'm curious of your thoughts on the Eharp tuning from a learning-playing perspective, as compared with more "standard" tunings like C6th? I'm surprised it didn't catch on more in popularity...It's a very beautiful tuning.

Hi Jeff,
The Alkire tuning is not as user friendly as the more common tunings which you have alluded to. I like the chord availability without the use of pedals and the fact that you can find your melody line in close proximity. I just use the two fingerpicks and will brush two strings with the thumb if and where possible in my arrangements.
I was always aware of the tuning but did not take it seriously intil Maurie Junod, Art and Mae Lang, Claude Brownell sent me a "raft" of resource material including cassette tapes and chord charts.
I like it so much that I have my new acoustic steel strung up and can play and practice on a regular basis now. For me it's a keeper.
It would be nice to have a little more on the bass end but that would mean going to 12 strings and I am not ready for that.

Hi Howard,
As I stated above I plan to use the tuning much more in the future. My feeling is the players should get more into the chords available in addition to the single string work and ..why not? ...there's a bundle of them there. That's my plan of approach and to do it with a "different sound" for the Alkire. In the meantime I post my Tab for those who wish to look at it and perhaps give it a trial run.
My little Acousic I think can provide that "different sound" with it's suspended soundboard and a less powerfull pickup affording less sustain. I am also leaving out the volume pedal when playing Eharp.
A new ballgame? I hope so.
