Is the "Black" album available? Is there another name for the project?

Yes, it's also called "Emmons Guitar Company", but everyone knows it as "THE Black Album". As for who has vinyl copies, maybe Scotty? The Emmons Co. sells CDs of it, I know...

Need I add that this is an absolute MUST HAVE in every steel guitar collection, bar none. But perhaps you knew that already...

Thank's Jim..

I'm always amazed at the speed of response on this forum. I think I clocked you in at 45 sec. after I posted

Mike Auldridge recommended the album highly.

So...I am his obedient student!

There may be a pop quiz next lesson!

Thanks

If you're getting that one, you need to add "One for the road" also....and then there's "Minors Aoud" ....and so on, and so on....

Howard, Go to www.BuddyEmmons.com and it is listed on his website. All purchases go through Ernie Renn but it looks like it is still available. Oh yeah, it is a classic just like the site says it is.

The two album set recorded at the '77 ISGC is also an all time classic.

This set and the black album are considered by many to be his finest. I must agree. If you want yet one more, get his Christmas CD. Even though it is not that time a year, his playing is incredibly superb and tasty.

If you would like to hear what I believe to be his finest ever on back up, get Ray Price's late recording, "Time".

I have never heard Buddy get a better tone. Just love it.

Carl, You are correct. The Christmas album is a great album. I have tried a time or two to play "Sleigh Ride" and that is a pretty tough tune to play. Buddy Emmons tone on that project is fantastic. I sure recommend it. I have read and I believe it was on his website where that project was the best planned he had ever recorded.

Mr. Dixon, it was with great pleasure I read your post about the "Time" album. I've also been saying that I think it's just about the best back up playing I've ever heard. Great minds think alike!!!!
