Stephanie Davis

Just in case you don't know her, I'd like to introduce Stephanie Davis to the Forum. A talented writer, great singer and musician. She is living on a ranch near Billings, Montana, writes songs and poetry and recorded several albums. She was a member of Garth Brooks' Band and wrote several songs for him ("We Shall Be Free" and "Wolves" which is on my all time list of favorite songs). Her version of "Wolves" (including beautiful steel playing of Tom Morrell) always gives me chills!

Stephanie appeared on several big shows around the country, incl. the Cowboy Poetry Meeting in Utah and the Prairie Home Companion Shows.

I know Stephanie from her days as San Francisco Bay Area musician. We would hire to come in and play fiddle and sing from time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then all of a sudden she says "I'm goin' to Nashville to be a songwriter" and we're like yeah, right good luck with that. Oh ye of litte faith, look what happened!!!!! Talking to her recently she sure didn't have anything nice to say about that infamous town. She seems real happy where she's at now, which I believe is where she is originally from: Big Sky country, which is what she called her band around here: Big Sky. We miss her!! BW
