Looking for a waltz

The band I saw last night does a song -- a waltz that talks about "She loves you Colorado." I thought they introduced it as a Haggard song, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know this song and can you point me in the right direction for lyrics? My new band needs more waltzes, so do you folks have 10 favorite waltzes that you play mand that folks like to dance to? Thanks.

Eric has the right title... You'll find it on the "Blue Jungle" album -- around 1991. -- and maybe on one of the 90's collections CD's as well.

Heads Up: He also had an album cut called simply, "Colorado".

The "Blue Skirt Waltz" was another good one, by Hank Thompson!

One of my favorites is "La Golondrina" (aka "The Dove", or "The Swallow"). It was recorded by Buddy Emmons in the early '60's under the title of "Singing Strings". The melody mimics the flying movements of a swallow---in wonderful musical metaphor, I might add!

I was always partial to Jerry Byrd's SURPRIZE WALTZ !!

I never had the talent to attempt it on a 6th tuning but I did find it on the E9th neck and played it for years. It was a circle of 5ths run and went up to the octave in a gradually increasing tempo. Just as the the dancers had caught up to our band, we stopped abruptly and then began back where we started from, repeating until it looked like we had them danced out.
