The band I saw last night does a song -- a waltz that talks about "She loves you Colorado." I thought they introduced it as a Haggard song, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know this song and can you point me in the right direction for lyrics? My new band needs more waltzes, so do you folks have 10 favorite waltzes that you play mand that folks like to dance to? Thanks.

Hey there Mike, Artie Bechtel, lead guitarist
with maximum talent and a voice to boot, formerly with Renegade Band, and of late with Jason Snell......would happily share the words with you and your new group, I'm sure. Give him a tug on the shirt sleeve next time you see him.

Eric has the right title... You'll find it on the "Blue Jungle" album -- around 1991. -- and maybe on one of the 90's collections CD's as well.

Heads Up: He also had an album cut called simply, "Colorado".

Gene, I can't believe you left out my favorite by Hank Thompson, Westphalia Waltz. Of course it may have been on a different album.

The "Blue Skirt Waltz" was another good one, by Hank Thompson!

One of my favorites is "La Golondrina" (aka "The Dove", or "The Swallow"). It was recorded by Buddy Emmons in the early '60's under the title of "Singing Strings". The melody mimics the flying movements of a swallow---in wonderful musical metaphor, I might add!

And yet no one has mentioned the "Rockin, boppin waltz" by Ray Stevens, done to the tune of The Blue Danube.

"GIT UP" (band crash)
"IT'S WALTZ TIME" (band crash)

"There ain't nothin to it." (da da, da da)
"Just grab a chick and do it." (da da, da da)
"It's the rockin, boppin waltz."

I just recently worked up a new version of an old, old waltz done by Bobby Koefer and also Jerry Byrd entitled “Blue Mist”. A really pretty tune!

I was always partial to Jerry Byrd's SURPRIZE WALTZ !!

I never had the talent to attempt it on a 6th tuning but I did find it on the E9th neck and played it for years. It was a circle of 5ths run and went up to the octave in a gradually increasing tempo. Just as the the dancers had caught up to our band, we stopped abruptly and then began back where we started from, repeating until it looked like we had them danced out.

Regards, Paul

Jody: Take a peek over in computers at a thread titled: How'd He Do That?? I have been trying to figure out something Caleb had done on my computer and the guys opened up a whole new world of things I can use. I'd put them on the Forum but luckily for b0b, I haven't figured that one out yet. Maybe Roy will show me how.......

No, you better not do that Roy !!

Regards, Paul alias Wingdings etc.
