......At one time his great group consisted of Al Bruno on lead, Dale Bennett on bass, Archie Francis on drums, and either JayDee Maness or Carl West on steel......

Dale Bennett....you can't hide anywhere....they tracked you down all the way to Oklahoma City! ...and of course Carl West is still out there!

Hey Gene,
Al Bruno recently sold his house in Northridge and moved to Las Vegas to work. Who ever he's working with really has a prize. JH

Al Bruno has paid his dues several times over. Instead of looking for more work he ought to be laying in a hammock on Maui writing his memoirs.

When I talked to G.D. Walker about buying my Stereo Steel Preamp, He told me that Al had Moved to Vegas and is using a Stereo Steel amp now. Man there must be a ton of Hot Licks in that old Twin he used to use.

Someone else told me about this a few months ago. If anyone know where Al Bruno is playing or how to get a hold of him, Please let me know.
I just quit the band I was working with in Vegas and I need to steal some licks from Mr. Bruno to get my creativity going again.

Be careful of what you ask...LOL
In 1972 he scared me to death in Nashville and I went to playing bass the very night I went to a jam session where he was playing. Convinced me real quick that I couldn't measure up as a guitar player. What a picker!!! and one hell of a nice guy.

Ethan Reilly moved to Germany in the late 1980s and has led a series of tribute bands and recording projects in Europe since then.

Ethan replaced Jay Dee in the Jerry Inman band at the Palomino for a time, just prior to his stint with Glen Campbell.

Any westcoaster remember Glenn Garrison? He had an album or two out on the Imperial label I believe. I have one of them. He had a couple of tunes covered my major artists also. Glenn was killed in an automobile accident in Arkansas about 30 years ago or so. He was a very soulful singer and had a great style. I thought if he'd had the proper handling he'd have made it a lot further than he did. He used to work at the old Miller's Cave club in the LA area and had a pretty good band. I filled in on guitar a couple of nights when someone was sick but I can't remember who it was, maybe Cecil Bays or someone like that. Due to pharmacuticals, a lot of the old days memories are sometimes a little blurry...JH
