Ms. Evans has the looks, the body, and the voice to be a fabulous traditonal country singer.I'd love to see her cut an album of "shuffles" with a Telecaster, steel and fiddle. Well, I can hope can't I?

Hardly a waste of talent. She tried country-we supported her right into the poorhouse and now she's doing something that actually pays money.

Good for her, I say.

It's been done, see http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum10/HTML/003690.html

This is more proof that those who love real country don't buy enough product to support it.

This reminds me of a great jazz drummer supporting himself by touring with a comic, and just doing rimshots.

I have to play her new song once or twice every afternoon. It is the worst screeching I have heard in ages. But, it is a hit. So.......

I haven't heard her new one, but I think that 'Born To Fly' is wonderful - the playing (especially that Dobro track!) AND her singing....

A hit songwriter told me this one time,

If everyone is wanting songs about puppies, but you have 5 songs about kitties and only 1 song about puppies, a smart person would push the the puppy song.

I think the same lesson applies here.

Good for Sarah. I really dig the album cut of "Born to Fly" when it goes into a ride for a couple of minutes at the end.

I'm so glad you guys have taken the time to listen to Sara's latest album, and how you all know how she snuck a tele twangin', pedal mashin', fine fiddlin' number on there... as the last track... exposing a lot of unsuspecting pop-country fans to a taste of your exhalted "traditional" country...

That was really good of you all to not judge a book by its cover... Souls of saints, you have...

Chris, I guess you're talking about "Suds in the Bucket". I just checked out a sample of it on iTunes. It sounds good. I think I'll buy it ($0.99).

I admit I haven't listened to anything Sara's done except what's played on CMT or GAC, so I'm no judge of her talent. I remember seeing Sara early in her career hanging around with Merle, so she must've have something going for her. Like most of today's artists, she needs a song.

Speaking of Merle, if she ever cuts "You Take Me For Granted" let me know. I'll have to buy that one. She did that one on a TV special -- Merle Haggard, For The Record, and wow!

(I bought her first 3 CD's.)
