I am looking for an 8-string bridge with individual rollers (for each string). I am building a lap steel with a Hipshot Trilogy string bender and need the strings to move consistently when I change the levers for different tunings. I could have a machine shop make one or modify a 10-string nut for a pedal steel, but if one is readily available, that would be easier. Suggestions? |

I used a 10 string roller bridge on my Alkire Acoustic Steel. I do not change the tunings but it gives me uniform string spacing and trajectory to the tail peice.
It was made by a machinest and the old brass Sho-Bud rollers fit right in there.
Having one milled would probably be your best bet. It is a simple part. Mine is aluminum. My guitar is at the following link.
You can not see the bridge clearly but I think you will get the idea. http://www.clictab.com/royt/lesson_series.htm |

Nice looking steel. It is acoustic and has pedals? Did you use a nut with rollers on it as well. Which manufacturer made the rollers? Do the rollers all have the same concave radius (for string gauge)? |

Alan,
My guitar in the pic has no pedals.
The left overrollers are Sho-Bud (1960)?
A few were guaged for the lower strings.
They and the shaft fit right into the
aluminum nut.
Try buying new rollers and shaft,,then have
the aluminum part (nut) made to fit therein.
It should be the cheapest way to go??
