Why not? it's not like it's only country artists anyway. There's plenty of Adult Contemporary and rock artists who have been there for years (of course trying to hide their real identity by wearing cowboy hats, but they can't fool me!!  ). |

Why am I not surprised,Fan fair wasn't meant to be the monster these "PROMOTERS" are trying to and will succeed in making it become. Fan Fair was great in the old days ,a fan could actually get a close personal contact with the stars they came too see. Nashville once was the or consided to be the Capital of Country music.But after losing most of its mainstays and the demise of true Country music it is sadly disapearing.There are many true country people left keeping the flame .It's a good thing to rumage through the haystack piles of $hit they are producing now and finding the "needle" once in a while Like Alan Jackson and Daryl Worley.But thank God I have a gigantic collection of the music I loved.  and still do And the great Steel Guitar shows that are put on all over the country.

| I'm not suprised either. It only opens the door for the R&R people, to slip in when they're not wanted anymore, in their own genre. It has happened so many times before. And, it only tends to ruin the music, as we know and love it. I should know. I was a rock and roller before I found my true niche in 1975. But, I didn't affect any movement, since I'm only a backup steel player. Just stop for a moment, and think about it. It's unfortunate, but true. The record companies always push, bigtime, all the leftover has-beens into our music. And then,a lot of the public starts buying their CD's and going to their concerts. It's truly amazing the power of suggestion and lack of willpower there is. |

| Well I guess you'll be able to see Eminem and Ice T and maybe Mike Tyson will turn into a rapper the next time Lennox Lewis knocks his brains out! After all you don't have to have any talent to get out there and run down everything from your wife to God. It fits him perfectly. The closest I've got to Fanfair is paying $5 to see a bluegrass show a couple of years ago and you can believe I won't be going to run into the likes of the above. |

"Fan Fare"? Isn't that the big once-a-year deal in Nashville where you get to see dozens of acts (both "big-time" and "small-time"), get up-close and personal with 'em all, and go away feeling you've seen the best of everything there is in the business?
Of course, 40 years ago in Nashville, you could probably do that every week! |
