Well if afterwards she opened up a delicatesson that was open every day, it would be the Dolly Dali Daily Deli.
OK, but what if she then moved the whole operation to Delhi? Image

Of course, her delivery pickup truck would be the Dolly Dali's Daily Delhi Deli dually.

And her table place mats would be a Dolly Dali's Daily Delhi Deli doily.

And her... oh, never mind. Image

Ok, after all these years, I am going to confess: I bought Dolly a pair of hose once AT HER REQUEST! The circumstances were this: We were a warm up band at a street festival in Newport, TN right after she had her first hit song. She was the "local girl makes good". She had a pick-up band playing for her right after we did the warm up. They were all busy doing some last minute rehearsal in an abandoned store that was being used as a back stage. The stage was an 18 wheeler, flat bed truck. She got a run in her hose and looked at me and asked me if I would mind going up to the drugstore to see if they had the size and color of hose she needed. Off I went, got the hose, then returned them to her. I never got to see her put them on, though, darn it. That is my claim to fame concerning Dolly Parton. Shortly after that, she moved to Nashville, joined Porter Waggoner, and the rest is history. I wish now I had asked for the old hose. Would probably bring a small fortune on eBay!

Then why do you dally around here?

And, Mike, I think you must mean "duly" noted, unless the whole ordeal is just very uninspiring, in which case it might well be dully noted.

Of course, you might dully note, that which others have indeed duly noted, i.e., that she uses Dolly Dali's Daily Delhi Deli doilies.

Dollywood was featured on the Travel Channel a few nights ago. Did I hear right, she has two thousand employees? This thing draws 1.2 million guests a year and is growing. I had no idea this thing was that big. At two thousand employees, what kind of payroll would that be?

Ya know I hate to encourage bad behavior...

I did see the Travel Channel special the other day, and Dollywood is quite a place indeed. If I worked there the name of the place would be much more appropriate.

And Yes, it is "Comb", and it would be for lice.

"I set out to look for you for days un-numbered, with a pair tweezers and some A 200.."

I noticed a couple of things about "Dollywood". It was just kind of subtle in the "training college". A strange trance-like friendliness.

I get the idea that there is not much room there for "people like me"...

I did kind of like Dolly's outfit on the special. It had a couple visual "temperature sensors" built in.

How clever.

I wonder where "The Dungeon" is in Dollywood.

I always wonder that wherever I am...
