Erv,
That song was entitled,"No Help Wanted". I first met Bill, back in the late 50's/early 60's,when he played the NCO club at Westover AFB,in my hometown of Springfield,Ma. He had Buck Trent,on guitar & banjo,& Zane Beck on steel. Can't seem to remember the bass player. Just a few short years ago,I found an old 78 rpm in an antique store. It was by the Carlisle Bros. I think I paid .75 cents for it. I bought a frame,a piece of red velvet remnant for a background,& had a little brass "nameplate" made for it. I presented it to Bill,& you'd think he just received an induction to a HOF. These will be my fondest memories of Bill Carlisle,an ENTERTAINER,in the truest sense of the word, to the end. I will,of course, attend his services.

I was lucky enough to see Mr. Carlisle perform on the Grand Ole Opry back around 1985 or so. He was quite a jumper and had a couple of great tunes. May he rest in peace.

I first met Bill at a house Party I believe it was around 78-79. One night Smiley said we were going over to T.R.'s house for a few beers and Fun. Bill happened to be there cracking everyone up with his jokes and great warm personality. This man was genuine down to earth and I will always remember what this man meant to Country music and what it meant to him.God Bless Bill Carlilse and thank you Smiley.
