I wonder the same thing. Is it to be informative, or something to start a discussion, or an argument I'm not sure. It sure starts some things around here. Mostly topics like: Tommy must have a new endorsement, He wasn't playing his MSA, Emmons, Mullen,Sho-Bud, or Carter. I guess it's a big thing. Or else the topic: He/She sure didn't seem to be country gosh darnit cause by golly they didn't have a steel player and their guitar player heaven forbid had distortion on his guitar and the chick singer barely had anything on. That can't be country! In fact sometimes, people sit and watch the whole show so they have something to really complain about. My TV has an item called a channel changer so I don't have to watch if I don't want to.

Chill out guys! Janice provides a great service by letting us know who will be on CMT's televised portion. I for one appreciate it. If nothing else, it lets people know ahead of time if they want to watch it or not.

Janice provides a valuable informative service here by letting us know what performers will be on this weeks Opry so we can decide if we are going to watch it or not. Thanks Janice. And Craig, yeah this IS a forum where people have the opportunnity about talking about steel and country music, as long as they keep it civil. I find all peoples opinions interesting, including yours.

Kevin, I don't mean to start anything, the proof is in the past Opry posts and replies. Just an observation, and for sure no reflection on Janice. I just would like to see more positive response. I would post but being a working steel player, I don't have a chance to watch. I hope Janice that you continue to post, mainly cause I think that might be the only way to find out in advance.

It's nice to see that I'm not alone depending on Janice to post the Opry line up each week. Janice is always faithful in doing so and usually writes a brief summary afterwards. I certainly appreciate Janice and what she does here on the forum and I'm glad to see that most everyone else does also.

I too appreciate her posts, if I can't see it Sat Eve., I will watch the rerun on Sunday at 11:00.

Plus, Janice really knows her country music and is a huge supporter of it and steel guitars.

Thanks, Janice

Thanks Janice for the heads up on the Opry schedule. Craig, you can do what I do and tape the Opry or watch it the next morning on CMT around 10:00 Nashville time. I have a tape for Opry shows only and can try to work on this stuff Tommy and Johnny are playing.

Jim Ed Brown forgot Nancy Griffin's name but he sure covered himself well by migrating back to the podium and looking at the schedule. For those of you who are taping this Opry, watch for that. I am sure it happens more that we know.

He is a real pro to do that without becoming unraveled!

I thought Nancy Griffith was great, why did it take so long for her to be on the Opry. The other woman whom she wrote a song together with was on for the hundredth time, but I don't recall her name. What's wrong with that? Maybe I'm blind but come on folks.

BTW, who was the Dobro player for the Stevens sisters, he was good.

I hope Loretta is OK, Isn't this the 2nd time she missed the Opry due to illness?

Craig, that was Elizabeth Cook. She is an incredibly talented REAL country singer song writer ala Loretta Lynn. The first time I saw her at the Opry she blew me away. I've seen her a number of times at the Opry since then and she is a real favorite down there with the staff. What a voice!! They'll probably never let her on pop country radio. If you ever get a chance to see her please do. She reminds me of the first time I saw Emmons play steel. Its the real deal.
