I thought with Speedy gone this year, it would have been nice to have Eddie do some MC work. With his music knowledge it would have been really neat. Thoughts?

Great idea! I'm sure Scotty and Stoney would welcome the assist. Stoney gets about as many breaks as Roy Rosetta -- very few. However, I don't believe they received much notice that Speedy wasn't going to be able to attend.
Eddie did a great job on fiddle and it can't hurt steel guitar to have Eddie out there promoting the real deal -- with steel-- on WSM. I wish the rest of the industry would catch on.

Maybe we should approach Scotty on the subject?

Craig and Ron, that is a great idea!! I am all for it. Of course not to take away from Scotty, Stoney, and Speedy. |

I have stated this before on the Forum, and to Eddie himself at last year's IBMA---Eddie Stubbs is a NATIONAL TREASURE! He's also one of the nicest, most humble guys you'll ever meet, and his fiddling and his voice are both easy on the ears. Now, just so's nobody gets the wrong idea, Ol' Eddie's not the prettiest thing on the radio, and I'm happily married, but St. Louis will be great next year; Eddie MCing, and my first trip! |
