You reckon Braddock's gonna "Talk About Me" or sing one of his real songs? During the height of its reign as a hit, someone threw it in our face that that song was written by Bobby Braddock, a "real country" songwriter. I say having a horse for a mama doesn't make a mule a horse. Image

Braddock is an established songwriter and should be able to sing what he wants to sing. Besides, who knows...... maybe if he sings that "me me me" song.... he could do it in a way that's different from Toby's egofied version...... but since it IS the Opry.... maybe he should sing some classics from his big catalog. We shall see come Saturday....

Also... since it's still baseball season, I wish Marcus Hummon would sing "The Cheap Seats" since it's one of his songs to begin with......

Braddock does sound egofied but he also does his biggest classic

I managed to contain my urge to vomit during Hal Ketchum's wonderful rendition of "Stay Forever". The song could grow on me if I didn't have to listen to it or watch him sing it... I also listened to DiPiero sing "American Made" (which wasn't actually that bad). May have gotten better after that. That was the only two songs I could bear to endure. Oh well; maybe next week...
[This message was edited by Jason Stillwell on 14 July 2002 at 09:00 PM.]

Sucked! After about 15 minutes, I let my 9 year old change to the kiddie channels which was much more entertaining.

Just a thought ,If they want to feature songwriters why not a night for the guys who make their tunes sound good?... The Pickers..Think Pete Fisher has any creative sense that he would honor the Backbone of Nashville Music?..No one else does especially the C.M.A.Certainly last weeks show wasn't good enough to beat out Tampa Bay Devil Rays who are due to win a game this month sometime.
