I think "Trace" is one of the best of the new singers. I love his voice (makes me think of "Ed Bruce"), but I don't think they have really captured his voice on record yet. The man has an unbeleiveable range!
"Dan Drilling" is a great guitar player that I had the priviledge of pickin' with for a number of years here at a local club.Good picker, good guy, just don't throw him two or three shuffles in a row!!!! Anybody who can play "cajun guitar" gets my vote! Dan is all original, no copy cat.
Also don't forget Mat McGee on bass. Great player.

Hi Deana, Thanks for your kind words last week. I'm STILL moving but come Sunday - no more internet! I'll miss my out of state pen pals, but I think that the 'chicken soup for the soul' forwards, the jokes and 'surfing' wastes too much time. Enjoy the Opry this week! (I'll be listening on the Radio)

Loren,
Again- Happy Trails.
Since you are in Nashville, and I'm assuming you aren't moving too far away, my family is going to be doing the Midnight Jamboree sometime in the near future. (Got a call last week, just still haven't decided on a date yet) So be looking on the schedule and come over and meet us. We are simply entitled the Marvin and Deana Clark Family.
(Sorry to get off topic)

George IV couldn't sing on key tonight but he's a great singer when he can. Tommy carried him high. Trace Adkins was great with a lot of in your face steel. I was not impressed with Clay Walker. Jimmy C always jumps because I like Cajun music. Brooks & Dunn were good and had good steel behind them. It was just not an exciting night at the Opry.

Mr. Cole, Theresa is right in her statement that all the players had in your face steel last night. I'm not sure what you heard but what I heard was pure, clear, clean and honest steel guitar playing last night. The only advise I can offer you is to either change the batteries in your hearing aids or just change channels. You were totally wrong in your assumption of last night's performance.
DISCLAIMER: As I am more accustom to disagreeing with Theresa than agreeing, it just goes to show that everyone is right some of the time and no one is right all the time, except me!!!!!

Clay walkers band was greatI especially like the out-throw for the first song. Old George Hamilton the fourth sure doen't sing with any voice control anymore. Nice guy but not an Opry strong point. If Trace Atkins needs some better song material for that powerful voice. I can see where Brooks and Dunn can draw a good young audience.Jimmy C'S "You can Kiss my Ashley"cute song but he should save that stuff for the Barrooms.Once again JMHGO
