I just destroyed the World" by Conway Twitty
Has anyone got the recording of "I just destroyed the World"? It needs to be the Conway Twitty version. If so, could you e-mail me an MP3 of it. I just love the kick & break played by John Hughey. I already have the Jimmy Day instrumental version.

The turnaround of this song on Rob Parker's cassette (the one that has a different steel player on every song) is out of this world. The steeler is Stu Basore and he does a unison string thing that makes the hair stand up on your neck. If you want to hear a lot of great steel work in different styles by all different pickers, you will love this cassette. Plus, Rob does a great job on the vocals as he always does at the steel jams.

I would also like to get a copy of Conway's version. This is my all time favorite intro and break. My copy has been played so many (and boy do I mean many) times that it skips.
I think John must have been using a 60" scale guitar on that one
This is a desperate plea for a copy.

Thanks to those that emailed me the files. Hopefully Nick received them too. For those who have not heard this version, well, it could rate right up there with sex. I wish Bear records would come out with CD re-releases of Conway's records. Some of the best steel playing ever recorded was Hughey on the "filler" cuts on Conway's records.

Oops, that didn't work. I'll try this way. I'VE JUST DESTROYED THE WORLD I'M LIVIN' IN
Recorded by: Ray Price
Written by: Willie Nelson
[C] The Sun just went behind a Cloud
[F] There's Darkness all around me Now
For I'VE [C] JUST DESTROYED THE [Am] WORLD I'M LIVIN' G] IN
[C] I Broke her Heart so many Times
[F] That now at Last I've broken Mine
And I'VE [C] JUST DESTROYED THE [G] WORLD I'M LIVIN' [C] IN
CHORUS
What [F] made me Think that I could go on [C] hurting Her
I [D7] should have Known there'd have to be an [G] end
[C] But Fools in Love are Taught by fate,
[F] They never Learn till it's too Late
And I'VE [C] JUST DESTROYED THE [G] WORLD I'M LIVIN' [C] IN
REPEAT CHORUS
