Justin Trevino is"The Real Deal"

Post by Gordon Black »

If you're tired of all the junk being pedaled as "Country" now-a-days, give a listen to "Travelin' Singin' Man" by Justin Trevino. Old, traditional songs with (yes!) real melodies and enough steel to satisfy anyone here on the Forum. You won't be disappointed...

I have both of his CD's. They are full of GREAT country music. We don't hear much of this stuff way up here in New England.

I agree with you. Great country music, but he needs to do more original cuts. I love his covers, but I think he should mix it up a little. I think he wrote or co-wrote "Loud Music and Strong Wine". So I know he can do it.

Outstanding vocals and harmony, great steel, guitar and fiddle on everything Justin does.

Chris, what's the name of his other CD? My source only had "Travlin'Singin'Man" listed. Thanks.

He's got a third CD (his first one) called "Texas Honky Tonk" it has my favorite Justin song, "Lord Forgive" written by Lawton Williams, as well as "Love Me", and a duet with Johnny Bush on "What a Way To Live."

I would not trade my copy of Justin's first album for anything. Hopefully he will rerelease it at some point

I have two of Justins CDs and I agree-they are great. I have had the priviledge of seeing him perform several times in Fort Worth along with Gary Carpenter on steel and Bobby Flores (cant say enough about his talent !!) and even Jim Loessberg on drums !!
He is one of my favorites and sings the shuffles along with the best of them.

I have both albums and they are great. The steel break on "Waltz of the Wind" is one of the prettiest I have ever heard.

I was on my way home from work at 6:am sunday morn and listening to WSM and this fabulous voice came on singing that blew my mind. I thought at first it was an old Ray Pillow record but when it was announced Justin Trevino was the singer. I made a ten oclock visit to Wal-Mart and there ain't one bad song on this refreshing CD...And Wal-Mart had it in the $9.00 bin so that's two good deals.Almost wants me thinking about moving to Texas. Wonder if I could get a passport?
