Post by cathi parson »

The So. Calif. Western Swing Music Society is gettin' together again this Sunday, October 14th at the Chino American Legion Hall where we'll be jammin' and dancin' once again from 1 to 6pm. We're expecting SCWSMS members Larry Petree, Michael Johnstone, Harry Orlove and John McClung among others. WS Hall of Famers Red Gillean, Billy Mize, Stan Peters, Tom Turman and others are also planning on joining us. Jammers are admitted free, just bring your own amps. Open to the public. Bring your families and friends. All ages welcome. Contact me if you need more information. Keep swingin'

Hi Cathi;
Wish i could be there but can't get off work to make it in time..Stan Peters & Red Gillean both spend their winters here in Yuma & are 2 fine musicians.They usually host a smaller version of a similiar show here in Yuma near the end of the season here before they all leave..It is a GREAT show with many fine musicians also..Also my friend Larry Petree-they just don't make any finer men than these guys in my opinion!!!!
Have fun to all those that attend!! Ron

Thanks for the response Ron. I was in Yuma this January for Red and Joanie's annual Jam Session and thoroughly enjoyed myself. There'd be something seriously wrong with you if you didn't. That's also where I met Stan and Janice Peters. All are salt of the earth folks. Red will be our emcee on Sunday and nobody sings a tune quite like he does. Sorry you can't make it this time. We'll see you in Yuma next year.

You said it. Stan is a true Crooner. Love his voice. And not too shabby of a picker either. See ya the 2nd weekend of January.
