There's a Morrell Resophonic on eBay. Anyone know anything about this guitar?

I remember seeing some instruments other than lap steels on Morrell's web site. Imported from the far east as I recall. If they are anything like their lap steels (which are made in Bristol, TN) I would not want one. Your milage may vary.

I've seen them (several years ago) and wasn't impressed (the ones I saw were all roundnecks, by the way). I think they are fairly generic Korean/Chinese/whatever, that turn up under several different brand names (Samick?). Not nearly as good as most of the Regal/Flinthill squarenecks I've seen - though I think all these brands tend to evolve over the years... in one direction or another

When I hear the name Morrell, there's not much good said about it in ANY of their models...I haven't played one , so I'm only going on what I have heard from other players whose judgement I would trust ....Sincerely, Jim

I have one of the high end models and have not had any problem with it. I think mine is a MTMR S4 Squareneck. I listed for 1499. I bought it from Steel Guitar Nashville and I've never known them to sell junk. While it's not a Gibson I'm certainly happy with the sound and the looks. I just don't have the time to play it, since I also play piano, pedal steel, mandolin, guitar and bass. I don't know what this one brought but I'd be open to offers.

The only Morrell I have seen are student steel guitars which are nothing more than a plank of wood, vol control, frets painted on and selling at horrendous prices for what you get.
