You guys might miss a bunch since it's fan fair. Some of the line up will be Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Sara Evans, Vince Gill and too many to mention. I'm gloating, cause I'll be backstage with the Whites! Theresa<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Theresa Galbraith on 13 June 2001 at 09:07 PM.]</p></FONT>

Chris Cagle : May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his crotch and armpits, and may the sounds of a thousand steel guitars disturb his sleep forever. Jody.

That comment by Chris Cagel is sad.
I'd like to hear more info on it.
Maybe it was a .... ????

Last I heard, Alex Depue has the Fiddle-seat in Cagel's band.

Alex has recorded with Herbie Wallace and Frank Rogers. Last year he performed with Herbie at the ISGC. Herbie agreed to let him do a fiddle-only solo (Yankee Doodle Improvisations) that tore the house down.

To add to Jody's "curse" : May all 1000 steel guitars be playing in unison! BTW that is the definition of dissonance. 2 Steel players playing in unison. Image

Thanks Kyle. I somehow missed that thread first time around. It's at http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum1/HTML/013630.html

Their performance on the opry tonight was rather weak. I thought it was the sound system, but then the other acts sounded fine. Lots of screaming fans seemed to like him. Looked to me like he's a Garth clone.

I care less about what Chris Cagel says and does than he cares about what I say and do.

Does that put it in perspective?

If I got insulted every time someone went on stage without a steel, they'd be calling me "Little Rodney" for sure! I've seen a lot of bands with a steel that wasn't doing much, or that I couldn't hear. Now THAT makes me upset! Image

I found out that I like him just about as much as I do Garth. I thought the whole show was a total waste of TV time. It's too bad about Pam. She can do it right if she wants too.I'm not sure what the checkerd hat guy done, but It's not what I would call anything close to country. Porter was (PURTY) though.

Hey Les, That's some pretty funy stuff but you do have a good point or two. If you want to read a similar slant on that subject, check out my comment on "grand ol uproar". It's true, country is changin', but I bet there are some real Jimmy Rogers fans out there that think Ernest Tubb was too modern for "real" country music. (Hee Hee) Image

And what about Loretta, Tammy, Ray,George....
"OH my goodness, they were just way too modern. THATS OKAY, somebody loved their music.(Me for one) Thats what made them legends today. I wonder who my kids will remember as legends when they are my age.

Theresa G... check your email in the next day or two.

You just never quit hoping you might get to hear something from Tommy or possibly get to hear the next super picker, at least that's why I watch. I sure don't care anything about all the cop shows, and the ball games, and stupid quiz shows.
