Charlie Christian

Post by Jude James Shiels »

I just was reading the discussion about Django, and I thought people might be interested in checking out two truly great Charlie Christian websites.

The amount of effort that has gone into these websites is awesome, the transcriptions are incredible, and they are a great place to learn most importantly.

<a href ="http://home.elp.rr.com/valdes/">Solo Flight Website</a>

<a href ="http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/hansen/Charlie/"> Legend of Jazz Guitar</a>

The former site has the entire live at Minton's 'Topsy (Swing to Bop)' solo transcribed, which must be one of the greatest guitar solo's of all time, and anyone who has had the pleasure to hear all 5 or so minutes of it would appreciate it a lot.
