Love the sound of a good Basson or an Oboe. Blondie Calderon playing the Vibes (or whatever it is).

Can't stand that type of sax Kenny G

plays.

Oboe and Cello. They're the fiddle and PSG of classical music. IMO.

Richard, That sax that Kenny G plays is called a straight soprano sax. Gee, I wonder why they call it a soprano? Could it be the ultra high squeek that they make? Kenny G is one of the best. Imagine what that thing would sound like in the hands of an amateur!

The Theremin.

Used by Led Zeppelin, the Beach Boys, Lothar & the Hand People and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
An interesting sound, but an aquired taste.

Also I'm getting great enjoyment from an 8 string guitar , converted from an old Eko 12 string acoustic . This has an alimunium nut , so I easily added few extra slots to the nut and the bridge , without really butchering anything . The problem is string spacing , but it is playable though. I have .70 string for the low B , regular set of 11's for the EADGBE and a .9 for the high A .
The whole tuning is down a whole tone as the string length is so long and the high A kept popping on me , about 5 strings in a row . I was a nervous wreck after that , and broke for a week

I'll try and scan the nut if anyone is interested ? No , on second thoughts don't answer that .

OH the solitude, joy and deliverance ,and releace of tention I would get and hour after Mamma had whipped my tail, for my wrongful deed's.
It is then I would pull out my old trusty comb and some wax paper, that I had managed to steal out of mamma's kitchen.
Now that was some music.
Why I felt like I was just as good as what I had been hearing on the radio.
I was Benny Goodman at his best,or some of the other's in the big band era.
Country did'nt come on our A.M radio till after 12 o;clock surely by then I was playing ball with the boys.
Seeing as how we lived in a shotgun house off the ground,I made some good music beating on the plumbing ,with a peace of pipe left by the plumber I supose.
Then Mamma would take a switch and make music out of me that the neighber's down the street could tune into.
Come to think of it, with my frail instrument's and mamma's switch, and my groan's and moan's and howl's I may have started rock and roll
