I did a last minute fill in gig the other night(non country). They called this song "Atlanta". Same song but, totally pop. Who recorded this originally??

Could be the song "Oh Atlanta" recorded by Little Feat in the 70's. Emmylou did a cover on one album.

I've been listening to Little Feat's live "Waiting For Columbus" CD in the car for the past week. They were an awesome band!

The studio version of that song is on "Feats don't fail me now", a really good album. Lowell George played all that slide with a craftsman sparkplug socket. Never could get use to that. He does a song with Mike Auldrige called "everybody slides" that is great. Also try "Six feet off snow" with Sneaky Pete playing with little feat, a great song.
