At the urgings of fellow "old-timers" here on the FORUM, I purchased, and just received the "Loud Music and Strong Wine" CD, and it lives up to all my expectations! Newly-recorded, authentic, '60s "style and sound" country...done like it should be, IMHO.

There are strong similarities to Johnny Bush, as well as lesser similarities to Mel Tillis' and Faron Young's old stuff. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable album! The steel is right out in front, and mixes tones of the old and new sounds.

Those who remember, or appreciate, the simplistic beauty of '60s country music will not be disappointed.

About 3 weeks ago, I was in Austin and got to hear Justin at a small place, the Carousel Club. I went in and there was Jim Loessberg, Justin and a drummer playing great country music. He sure sings nice! But I have to say the real treat for me was sitting at a table 4 feet in front of Jim and watching him work. There were about 25 people in there and they were ALL dancing.
That's Texas I guess.

Thanks Jim and Justin for a great time.

Man! I wish I was there with you! I'll probably have to sell everything I own, but I'm goin' to Texas and hear this guy! I played a couple of cuts for our lead singer (who can put MOST of the current "stars" to shame) and I said "What do you think of this guy?"

He said "I wanna go to Texas and choke him!".

But You'll probably never hear Justin on the radio...pity!!! Anybody that can get Johnny Bush and Curtis Potter to sing harmony for him....well, the guy is definitely doing something right!

And he LOVES the pedal steel. Jim Loessberg, I envy you, I really do!
