Of course I'm a bit biased but But Faron Young had some good bands over the years. When I arrived in Nashville Ben Keith was the steel player with the Deputies. When I joined the band Skip Jackson was playing for him. In the years that followed we had Al Lewis from the Virginia Beach area, Cal Sharp from Indiana, and at the end the great Stu Basore. Hank Corwin was with the band for a few months, and George Edwards aand Lynn Owsley filled in a couple of times.I know I've missed a few players but I'm old!!!!!

Hey Smiley...I remember T.O's band...Knocked out!!!....Another guitar player he had was Bobby Bryan out of Tx...Were you working with Tommy at that time?...Bobby ended up working with me a John Pusser's Western Lounge for quite awhile after his T O gig...

Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Swing Shift Band,
Nashville Bluegrass Band, Howard Roberts Quartet, (ca. 1963), Asleep at the Wheel,
and dozens of others!
Haven't heard any Desert Rose recordings, but I helped mix sound on a recent benefit, with an acoustic reunion of D.R.; Bryson (a great and funny dude), Hillman, Monahan, and Herb Petersen. Great A+ playing and vocals.

All of the above, but 1973 "County Reunion band" w/Doc Peters,Jim Smith,Jack Smith,Bob Suzor. Sure made me sound good.I agree with Richard ,Faron had some killer bands. My Favorite all time: Hank Thompson's Brazos Valley Boys 1960 era. I woudn't have got into the business and had all this fun if it wasn't for them. The Nashville Express (T.O.'s)w/doc,willie,smiley,allen,roger and oh yes Darrel (thank you sir Dotson).
[This message was edited by Joe Casey on 12 June 2000 at 08:29 AM.]

"Handpicked" and "Long time Gone" John Hughey off of "Highway call" Dickey Betts.
