It's a pre-war Martin D-45 that belonged to "hillbilly singing cowboy Smiley Maxedon" and all for a paltry $160,000! Lots of photos. Enjoy.

I have a friend who's got a Martin Model 2-30, and said they'd never part with cause it had "great sentimental value". It is in great shape, and was made sometime between 1860 and 1880, according to the Martin Co..
But...I believe they will part with it for that kind of money! |

You could always use it for a canoe paddle just like Smiley Maxedon did on his way to all of those "hillbilly singing cowboy" gigs
Now let's see.. a hillbilly singing cowboy.
Does that mean that he sang Bluegrass sounding like Roy Rogers?
Maybe that's why his guitar is worth so much!
Heck, they stuffed Trigger.

| I have never understood the prices of old vintage stuff, be it guitars or whatever. It pulls on its 6 strings just like my guitar. For my money it's very much like the internet stock. Over priced, under valued, and the subject of PT Barnum's famous quote. |
