Hi Greg: A buddy of mine Joey (Kieth)Coppins metioned your name the other day and asked me to say hello to you.I had told him that I was a forum member and I had seen your name quite a few times. I believe he said that he was working for Jeanie Seely and you were working for Dickens when you guys met. So from the great white north a big HELLO. Regards Tom

Tommy,
If I ever worked with Dickens, he had a great pair of "elevator boots!" The last two guys I played with on the road were George Hamilton,IV and Bill Anderson, and they each stand over 6 feet tall.Please have your friend provide a little more info, as I DID spend a lot of time in Canada from '69 to '76.

Gregg, Maybe I misunderstood him. I`ll try to get more info.A fellow who works with my band also worked for Geo.IV perhaps you know him -his name is Rusty Walker. I do believe you may have trvelled some roads with him. All the best Tommy.

I worked with Rusty once for a week in 1965 at the Edison Hotel in Toronto. I was traveling with a guy named Earl Scott,who was on Decca Records at the time.Earl only carried me with him, and we used the house bands everywhere we went.Rusty was in the band at the Edison quite a while, as I recall.I think he lived in Guelph at the time, and he was nice enough to give me a ride to Kitchener after the gig one night so I could spend some time with my uncle and aunt.Please tell Rusty "hello" for me. He's a great player!

Better watch your back from now on. Somehow, when you least expect it, I'll get you back! (LOL!) Now I know where the OTHER copy of that album went! You might wanna' show the nice folks what Sonny Garrish looked like in the early '70s too! He had some pretty serious sideburns as well. I hope you don't have any pictures of the Po' Boys during our "Afro" period!

I've done a lot of projects over the past 25 years in Nashville - both pop and country. Being a six-string player myself I know the worth of someone like Gregg on a recording session. And while I may have the whole forest in my sights, Gregg has always been mindful of each tree to make sure every session went better than expected. He's never come up with a bad suggestion (except the one where he had me move to Nashville in the early seventies

You played on my brother, Wayne's session. You played a killer fill lick that I'm having trouble finding. If I make a sound file of the lick, do you think you could explain to me how you played it. Just wondering.

Thanks! That's the Sonny Garrish I remember riding down the road with all those years!
And yes, I can explain HOW I played the lick------I just can't explain WHY I did!
