Opry on TV March 24

If you don't mix the new with the old, you soon run out of everything. There is enough good new artists to fill the supply and demand for the Opry and keep it traditional. Brad Paisley is the first that comes to mind and after tonights broadcast, Paul Brant fits into that category also. He did a great job with "Movin On" and his steel player was great with the palm harmonics. It was a great show tonight!

The only thing I could find to complain about was the credits rolling too fast at the end of the show. Do they think we are all speed readers? DAMN! I think I'll write TNN and complain about that.

Mike mentioned a new & older artist to see and hear on the Opry. I'd like to add a few more. Andy Griggs, Gary Allen, Mark Wills, Tracy Lawerence, Tracy Bird, Jessica Andrews, Jennifer Day,and Lee Ann Womack. IMO the list could go on and on!

This is in response to the current topic getting alot of attention in the forum lately. I'm an Administrative Assistant at a hotel 4 miles from the Grand Ole Opry. 90% of our occupancy is attributed to tour groups from out of the state and even the country. I hear all the comments and questions they have about the shows at the Opry house. All the response from these folks is how much they enjoy the show; most of all the entertainers that are there week after week. It's not that these artists do not have anything else to do. I attend many various functions in town and many of them are there also, donating their time and memorabilia for fund raisers. They're without bodyguards and just like us, normal people. We should all be grateful and forever thankful that this fine cast of characters known as "has beens" by some of you, still care enough to perform and show the new artists how its supposed to be done, i.e. without cables and smoke machines to distract from the lack of talent being portrayed.

There's nothing like playing the Grand Ol'Opry!
Those who have never played it don't know what they've missed.
Bob ,my ol' buddy, look forward to hearing you play again.I'll be looking for you when you come back to the Opry.
