50's and 60's Country Shows on the Net!

Post by Geff King »

Don't know if this has been posted before -
sorry if I'm being redundant.

If you go to http://www.willienelson.com/
and click on the link for "Texas the Nation"
you'll get some great full length vintage country music TV shows.
The last two days I've watched several dozen
Wilburn Brothers episodes and Porter Wagoner episodes in a row.

Great stuff. Highly recommended.

Hey Jeff, I went to that site, took awhile to load, but it was great. The show I watched"Wilburn Brothers" had a great intrumental by Buddy Spicher on Fiddle and Hal Rugg on steel. Now that's what's missing on todays radio,TV and Grand Ol' Opry. Thanks for sharing it. 73's...

I couldn't agree with you more, Frank. I also checked out that site. It was fantastic! We definitely could use more shows on tv like that. Thanks Geff for sharing that with us! Image Image

Have you all got to listen to Don Helms and that incredible tone he got on that Sho~Bud? I listened to Winchester Cathedral 3 1/2 times yesterday. Hal Rugg was lightening and had a wardrobe of some of the niftiest sweaters I've ever seen. I've also watched Don Wardon, Johnny Siebert and Ralph Mooney. This this is fantastic.
