John didn't they have some kind of a copyright conflict over the Steel Guitar Rag because it was very close to the Texas Rag? I think the Steel Guitar Rag was recorded in 1936 by Leon. David

I'm not sure. It is, however, listed in the ASCAP database of copyrights, so most likely, Bourne would take it very seriously.

That database must be organized as well as
comprehensive.
I say that because A friend of mine wrote
some hillbilly songs back in the late 1940's
Gave up the road and his beloved contry
music in trade for a mouthy battleaxe,
a house full of noisy, dumb looking birds,
and a matched pair of juvenile delinquents. Hey, thats a song right there!
Anyhow, he gave the songs away and now 50
years later he was able to work in the ASCAP website and not only locate them, but
recover the rights. Them regisiration
expired was not renewed, and by joining
for a nominal amount, he got 'em.
Hey that's another song!
What a happy ending.
