And the great thing is, after a long night of playing, you can use it as a bed!

Guys...read what it says! It's actually two guitars, (a double, and a triple).

I had a D-8 Magnatone once. I liked the wooden head covers - nice cosmetic touch - but the pickups sounded real weak to me.

I'm moving this topic to the 'No Peddlers' section, since it's not a 'Pedal Steel'.

It's nice, but I'm happy with my 12-neck (one for each key).

When I viewed that guitar, I thought, "Wow! I never knew Magnatone made a 5 neck model!" Then I read it was a duo and triple. Anyway, it brings back memories of my 4 neck Magnatone which was identical to what you see in the pic, (minus the 5th neck). Each neck had its own volume and tone control. It came from the factory that way. I loved that guitar, but I also loved my sacrieliac (sp?) ... in other words, my back!!! That guitar must have weighed a ton if it weighed an ounce and I finally had to sell it. I wish now I had kept it as a museum piece.

The bidding topped out at $560.

With 31 seconds left, the seller withdrew the auction and cancelled all the bids.

He did not have a "reserve" so, I expect the price was less than he wanted to take.

Never seen that technique before.

Keoki -

What were the differences, if any, between the Lyric and the Maestro? Did one model proceed the other with updates in its design? I've never seen a Magnatone Quad before. Do you happen to have a pic of yours you could send my way?

I have a T-8 Maestro, and have been pleased with its performance and sound thus far. I like the wider string spacing of the Magnatones. And, they have a natural Hawaiian sound. Unless the design of the quad made all the necks a little closer together, that 4th neck would really be far out there! Talk about a 'table' steel!

I didn't know there was a "Lyric" and "Maestro"...all I know is my guitar was a quad model and was just too derned heavy for me to pack around. The case alone weighed a lot. Sorry, I wish I had a good pic of it. I have only one 8 x 10 which really doesn't show all 4 necks clearly...taken from the front. The quad looked for all purposes like 4 single-necks all joined together. This was probably the way Magnatone made them as each neck had its own tone and volume control.
