1995 Zumsteel D-10 8x5, Black Mica

Post by Joel Paterson »

Black doubleneck Zum for sale. Serial # is D1085555. This guitar is in excellent condition and it is set up great and ready to go. The case is in nice shape. Emmons setup. The copedent is like a factory Emmons with a vertical to lower the B's.
E9 neck:
LKL raises 4 and 8, E's to F
LKR lowers 4 and 8, E's to D#
LKV lowers 5 and 10, B's to Bb
RKL raises 1 to G, lowers 6, G to F#
RKR lowers 2, D# to D/C#, lowers 9, D to C#
C6 neck:
Emmons pedal setup
RKL raises 4, A to Bb
RKR lowers 3, C to B
Comes with great sounding Wallace Truetones. I will include a Bill Lawrence 910 and a 710 that came with the guitar when I bought it.
2,850 + shipping
I'm sorry I can't be around the computer much at night, I have gigs. I can email more pics if needed. Just signed up for this picture hosting, I hope it works: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/Zum-D10.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/zum.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/zum-underneath.jpg
[This message was edited by Joel Paterson on 21 November 2005 at 04:39 PM.]

Hi Joel,
Looks like just what I should have.
Have you any idea how much to ship to AUSTRALIA?
Is it possible to change the LKV to flatten String 6 (G#) to E?
Also, is it possible to alter 3rd pedal to raise Both E's (4 & 8) to F# as well as B to C#?

Does anyone have an opinion on this modification? I'm sorry I don't know the answer.
I forgot to mention that the guitar had an extra LKL (outside) knee lever that I removed because it got in my way. I'm not sure what it did. So there is an extra knee lever included and an unoccupied cross shaft and two bell cranks to work with. I posted a close-up of this. Also, two extra bellcranks and pull rods are included. I posted a photo of these extra parts.
I think this is an ideal guitar for someone used to the standard Emmons setup that wants a nice Zum. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/extra-parts.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/changer-closeup.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d192/madisonfats70/zum%20pics/knee-levers.jpg

lkv would require using outer most position on the bell crank and bottom hole on the changer to accomplish the throw needed to drop the note a major third. i'm not familiar with zum changers, and this is a substantial drop. you should be able to get there.....
for the other change, just add another bellcrank on the cross shaft and put a rod to it and adjust it to balance it all out.

Murray I have used Bax Global to ship 2 guitars out to NZ - cost was about $275-280 USD including insurance, pretty good deal - and you can pay for it when the guitar arrives! Probably have GST on top of that as well of course.

Price would depend whereabouts in the states the guitar was shipping from.

And you can change a Zum around to any setup you like - like most newer all pull guitars, it is a fairly easy job, especially on a Zum or a Carter.

Joel I can see from the underskirt photo that the knee lever you took off still has all the bits attached underneath, so it would be a 10 minute job to put it back on! I have that lever on my Zum and use it a lot in my particular setup.
