85 Marrs D10 8+4+1 0075

Post by Sonny Miller »

This is a 80's Marrs Pedal Steel Guitar, that is all wood. Bidseye maple on the top, and a wood design on the front.
The fingers are smooth, and strumming the strings send vibrations down to the floor of the legs. It has George L's on it and i cannot read the type pick up it is.
I was told this guitar was Duane Marrs personal guitar. and with the big tone it has that is easy to believe.
The changer is pretty close to the changers Duane uses today, with the changer solidly against the body of the steel.
The bellcranks have about 7-8 holes, and any kind of feel on the pedals can be had with some simple adjustments. It has the Emmons copedent with 4 pedals on the E9 and one on the C6.
The steel because of the changer body contact has a very big sound. And the Wood used in it ,in the 80's was about 40 years old then, so its about 65 years old now!

Yes, it has a very big sound!

I am selling this guitar becuse , i play very little these days. The price of the guitar is 1750.00 + 50.00 Shipping.

I have a bunch of good pictures i will send you by email, upon request. Thank you

Folks this is one very fine looking guitar. The front of this guitar is 60 year old wood veneer put on by Duane Marrs and was his personal guitar. It is several different pieces and is put on in such a way that creates diamonds and different designs, very beautiful. There is only one more guitar made like this from Duane. The guitar is a wood body guitar throughout and the changer is not all that different from the new Marrs guitars today. I can't believe the guitar is still for sale here. If I didn't have all the stuff I've got I'd buy this guitar but I'm just covered up in equipment.

Frank, I just ordered 30 new tuners, and two new fretboards. I did not need the fretboards, but i am going to polish up the top of the Marrs, to get it looking like new. And i might ruin the old fretboards. And new tuners will make it dazzle like a new steel.

I might decide to keep this steel, as it is one of a kind. Thats why i am going to polish it up and change the fretboards, while i am thinking about this fine guitar.
You were right about the changer body contact on this guitar, and the sound is big, with any amp.
