Fender Jazz Bass for sale.....

Post by Jerry Hayes »

I have a very nice Fender Jazz Bass for sale. I'm not sure of the year but it's one of the made in Japan models and is a very nice instrument which plays and sounds great. I've had it for about 10 years myself and bought it used. It's black with a white pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard and in great shape. I'd like to get at least $300 plus shipping or $350 including shipping to the USA. I don't know how to post pictures or I'd do it....Thanks, JH in Va.

Hi Jerry,
I think the way the Fender serial numbers work is the first letter represents the first number of the year, followed by the first number for the second number of the year. So, H=8 (eighth letter in the alphabet) + 0 makes it a 1980 Fender (I'm pretty sure...??)

The H indicates that the bass was made in 1988 or 1989. there was no Fender Japan in 1980. It started in 1982 with the "JV" series.
