Sierra Artist D-10 8&4 For Sale
I have a 2000 model Sierra Artist D-10 with 8&4. Excellent condition in both appearence and mechanical! "This is a pro model guitar, not the student model." Triple raise/lower changer, George-L 10-1 pickups, grover tuners, 5 hole bell cranks, square cross shafts, aluminum body and necks, 24 1/2 inch scale, great tone & sustain, wheel eez case with the s/n sticker still on the outside included. This guitar was bought new by a student trying to learn, but he gave up and put it in the closet. $1250 includes shipping & insurance in the lower 48.
I have pics available and also attached a link to a recent posting by Mr. Roy Ayres that has a picture exactly like the guitar I have listed.
Thanks,
Dave

Hey, guys -- that's a fantastic deal at the quoted price. And, as David said, it's exactly like the one I sold for a larger amount -- and I think it is newer than the one I sold.

Mr.Ayres, I appreciate the kind words and I really enjoyed visiting your site. You have a fascinating and interesting part of history. Above all else, I see you are very proud of your family and that is certainly the way it should be!
As for the Sierra, it is setup Emmons copedant and is indeed a nice guitar, but I am fairly spoiled to my MSA classic and I do not need two D-10's. I may consider a S-12 or S-14. I priced it very reasonably considering Christmas is right around the corner.
Thanks,
Dave

I have a very similar Sierra D-10 Artist which I bought through the Forum about 2 years ago. Although I am a beginner, I have been playing it everyday and have never had a problem. Mine stays in tune and rarely breaks a string. Everything a beginner could want and then some. Looks like a very fair price to me. I don't see myself needing get a new guitar for a long, long time as my Sierra has been very reliable and I have not had to spend valuable time trying to fix things.

Sierra steels are not as popular or in demand as much as some of the other brands. I suspect this is because a lot of the monster players play some other brand. Joe Wright is truly one of those monster players, and he has used a Sierra for a long time, and just acquired a new one. The "Wheel Ease" case is a plus. The asking price on this one is a little more than one third of the original retail price, which was $3,220. It would be a great steel for a beginner because you could stick with the E9 neck and just let the C6 neck act as an arm rest until you are ready to start moving into the C6 tuning. If you take good care of this one, you can use it a few years and probably get all or most of your money back when you sell it. I do not have any financial interest in this steel -- and, in fact, I have never met Mr. Hgginbotham that I can recall; I'm just pitching in my two cents because it is such a good deal.

Colm, Mr. Ayres, Crowbear, & Danny, I really appreciate all of the positive comments. Also thanks to all who inquired. It looks like the Sierra is on it's way to Michigan.
