Rickenbacker Consoles
I have seen a lot of comments about the Frypans but not much about the old consoles (d8,t8). Does anyone own one and what comments do you have about them?
I've got a Triple 8, short scale (don't know if they made a long scale). I like the guitar, it's got a crisp tone, but the sustain is a little lacking compared to my Stringmaster, and not quite as tonally rich as my Bakelite Rick (or aesthetically pleasing), but it is a good conversation piece. Also, it's not the most comfortable guitar for me to play--I think I'd be better off with a D-8. The guitar comes alive at louder volumes, as there's somewhat of acoustical chamber inside because of the fact that it's hollow. I got it here on the forum for a good price, and with a little handywork it was perfectly playable and gig-worthy.
