The only material I've seen is a Jeff Newman course "Music to Back-up by". There are a couple of songs that are tabbed in the Mooney style. Check out Jeff's web site.

I have Jeff Newmann's Woodshed Workshop version of "Heartaches by the numbers". The steel on that one is done Mooney-style and it's absolutely great ! It saved my butt on a job where I had to play that song for the first time publicly and the singer did it in just that style.

I've tabbed a Ton of it on the "Rebel and Ricky and Jeff" site...
Many Buck Owens songs...and others.....
On the 1959 and 1960 and on 1964;65;66 theres Mooney with Merle and Wynn and others....tabbed by Jeff and myself...
More than you'll ever want to learn.

Andy,
I don't know what you problem is, but it's not the Mac.

I just looked at Rebel and Ricky's Tab and played some MP3s with my Powerbook G4. - OSX 10.3.2

No problem.

Andy; "Rebel" ie:Graham Reid is the computer expert on the site...> I would say if Joey had no troubles.....Maybe it's the actual browswer your using with your Mac. Don't know if you can use Explorer with a Mac...but pretty sure Rebel formatted for it...and may not of formatted for some other browsers> Joey what browser did you use?

I use Internet Explorer but just tried the native Mac Safari browser and it works fine. No idea why IE doesn't seem to like the clips.

Another question: what was Ralph Mooney's co-pedant in the 60's? It reminds me I'd like to get back to trying to find some of his licks on non-pedal. About five years ago Peggy Green gave me some good ideas for this and I started to get somewhere with it but forgot about it somewhere along the way.

Andy, I had the same problem with OSX on my mac while using IE. Try Safari, or just control-click and save it down to disk.

Interactions between Quicktime (which plays the mp3s) and the browser are just quirky on OSX. That, or try the new 10.3. that might also solve the problem.

Mac's Safari.

I also have Internet Explorer on my Mac.
I'll try it later today and let you know.
(My Mac is not with me now)

I just tried the site with "Internet Explorer 5.2 for Mac".
The Tab looks good, but clicking on a song produces a lot of text garbage, and no sound.

I can drag the song link to my desktop. It shows an icon for a MP3 file and plays fine from there.

Interesting. Definitly a bug in "IE for Mac", but not a show stopper.

Randy,

I've tabbed Wynne Stewarts "Big, Big Love" with Moon on steel. I'd be happy to share.

Ricky, I've just been to your Site,

Thank You!, Thank You!, Thank You! What a God Send, I am a Mooney junkie and just starting off, this is wonderful. I am set up Day and I am setting up my RKL to do the solo E to F# Mooney pull.

Anyone have any TAB from the Corn Pickin and Slick Slidin album with Mooney and Burton ? Someday I have to know how to play the Texas Waltz.

Thanks again,
Fred

Hi Fred,
The last few issues of the Pedal Steel Guitar Association's (PSGA) Newsletter have reprinted several of Jeff Newman's articles about Ralph Mooney's style.
