August's Free Gospel Tab----------------"Taps"
Yes, my free gospel tab for August is "Taps". "Taps"? Yes, "Taps".
And I'll bet most of you are unaware of the fact that this hauntingly beautiful song has lyrics, three choruses of them in fact.
I don't know if you are familiar with the story of "Taps" but I will include it with the tab, notation and lyrics.
For you newbies who are struggling with this instrument, you will like theis month's tab, it is extremely simple and uncomplicated. I have a hard time playing it without tears coming as it is so associated with military funerals and those that have helped to defend our great Country over the years.
This song needs to be played very reverently and with much feeling. You will be suprised how good it sounds on the steel guitar. You need to let the notes ring out with sustain and the first time through I like to use a single note melody like you are used to hearing it done on a trumpet.
Just give me a shout and I will drop it in the mail for you. It is done up in E9th.
Thanks and keep looking up!
