So, you're playing a standard in the key of D, like Release Me, and you get to the end of a line:
"Please release me let me go, for I don't love you anymore."
You've played the 1, 4, and 5 chords and ended up back at the D, or 1 chord. At that point, I hear a short progression of D, D#dim, Em, A, before starting the next line of the verse. Pretty standard progression in a lot of songs.
I would like to see some single note lines tabbed out that would follow that short progression. Any takers out there?

I'm presuming that the 'Short Progression" is 2 beats for each chord ?
The first beat of 'D' should be omitted as you'd crash the vocal on the F# note (the word :- More)
so, a phrase or fill staring on the SECOND beat of the D chord would be more desirable.. and because the vocalist is probably holding on to the F# note, another note of the diminished chord should be utilised.
Also the D# diminished is so close to B7b9 that an intimation of that chord may be in order !!
As for the rest (Em7 and A7) a parody of either some line of the melody OR of the same meter as the last line, is probably the way to go..
Apologies about the analysis (Not asked for) and NOT giving TAB (Asked for)
I just feel the one should "Compose" one's own 'Twiddle Bits' I think what I said could be classified as 'De-composing'

As a charitable act I have removed my tab as per Bazzy's deep need. Having been made to look ridiculous over in Feedback I guess he was looking to act important, act like he had some juice. In accordance with his wishes I will not make any more efforts to tab anything. |

Hi Lee.
That progression in(the turnaround)in notes can be play in the 10th fret with out moving.First note is D. Then D+ (D with the F lever) then 765(two minor) the the 8th string with the D lever. The other way.
6th fret.D minor,release the D lever,8th string Bb,same string with F,add the A pedal(G) to the 8th fret.Their are more. Just don't have room here.

Hmm. I'm not sure what you're referring to, Jon, but your tab was just what I was looking for. I was hoping more folks would post their ideas for single note runs that would fit that progression.

I'm not sure either, I have never tried to post tab, but wanted to answer this post somehow.
I Thought an analysis might help those who could post tab.
Jon, what did I say about your specific answer ?[This message was edited by basilh on 07 July 2006 at 05:56 PM.] |
