Some Augmented Ideas for E9th pedal steel
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
Here's some usable aug. passing chords I use from 1 to 4.
All in Key of G on E9 pedal steel.
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
1/2 pedal A
G Gaug C G Gaug C
4.__________}_______________
5._3~~2a~~3a}___3~~3a1/2~~3a
6._3~~2b~~3b}or_3~~~~~~~~~3b
7.__________}_______________
8._3~~2L~~3_}_______________
9.__________}___3~~~~~~~~~3L
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
Here you go to 6th fret and the 6th string becomes the 5th tone
then you let off the "A" pedal for the 5th string to go to the
flat7th then pedal your 5th tone up a half for the Aug.
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
G Gaug C
4.
5._3~~6a~~6~~~~8
6._3~~6~~~~6b~~8
7.
8._3~~6R~~~~~~~8
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
This is 6th string B pedal down and lower a whole tone
Or you can leave the 6th string B pedal down and raise the
7th string a half tone; either one becomes the flat7
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
G Gaug C
4._10~~~10R~~~~11R
5._10a~~~~~~~~~11a
6._10b~~10bLL~~11
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
"R" is half tone raise and "RR" is whole tone raise
</pre></font>
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
G7 Gaug C G7 Gaug C
1.____________}________8R~~~~8RR
2.____________}_________________
3.____________}____8b~~~~~~~~8
4.____________}____8L~~~~~~~~8
5._8~~~~~~~8 }or__8~~~~~~~~~8
6._8b~~~~~~8 }
7._8~~~8R~~8RR}
8._8L~~~~~~8 }
</pre></font>
Ok there's several ideas I use for ya.
I have a bunch more; but then you'll have to paypal me to get'um..ha..
Have fun.

John S. yes Jon L is correct in that; the b7 note is there; as oppossed to the root; as I consider the b7 note MUCH more important to a augmented chord than the root(everyone else plays the root..ha)> as you can tell by most of my examples.
