I have a "talk tape" for the John Hughey version somewhere in my archives. You could check Scotty`s website to see if it`s still availible.

Perry,
I'm busy with this one and still trying to get my ear around some of the things John did on that recording. ( This is the one on his 'on and off stage' album. The basic tune is not to bad to follow. It's the improvising that is something else.) Anyway, let's see how things devolop and I may try to find the time to tab it out for you. (minus the improvising section)

Thanks, Nic. I was away from the steel for ten years. That was when Things started to chang on the C6th and I missed a lot. When I started back up I was to old to grasp the sounds. I picked up a tape from Tom Bradshaw with various steel players. John Hugheys Deep water was one of the songs that turned my crank. I thank you for any help you can give. |

Perry, I posted that without my instrument in front of me, and it's been a while... anyway, I think the G chord is actually played at the 7th fret instead of the 2nd in the Hughey version.

Hi Perry,
I sent you the tab to your personal email. Did you get it?
The tab is not strictly in tempo, but it will give you a good idea.
