That solo is one of my favorites of all time and one of the very few where I play somebody else's solo onstage. Everybody knows how hip the intro is (even NOW), but the solo (as written in the link referred to above) is what I hear in my head when I think 'Night Life'. GREAT TUNE (thanks, Willie), GREAT PLAYERS (thanks Buddy, et al), and most of all GREAT SINGER (there will never be a voice to match The Chief).
All that equals GREAT RECORD.
