Gary,
I don't know if I have that one tabbed out or not. I've been thinking of offering "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". I tried to work up a C6th non-pedal arrangement for SallyAnn but didn't like the results. However, I do have an E9th arrangement tabbed out of this hymn. I like the message this hymn gives us. When all else fails and we're really low, we still have a friend in Jesus.
Would this be ok with you?

Well guys,
I guess "What a Friend We Have in Jesus"
will be the choice of FREE gospel tab for the month of April. I've already gotten some requests so will offer it to any and all that would like a copy. Just give me a shout and I will get it on its way. If you have requested my FREE gospel tab before, I have your address on file. If you are a newby, I'll need your snail mail address because you'll be sent the tab through the mail.
Keep pickin' for the Lord!
Erv
I'll get 'em out guys! Maybe I should clear something up, I don't have a list that I automatically send tab to. If you want a copy of the month's FREE gospel tab, you have to request it. My tab is a lot like salvation, it's free but you have to ask for it.
Make a joyful noise!

Hi Erv, Please send me a copy of the April gospel song "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". I got to make a joyful sound with my steel in church this past Sunday, your tabs have helped me a lot. Bless you, Jud
Thank you for the requests, guys. It makes this old Norwegian's heart feel gooood when my tab is used to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ "on an instrument of 10 strings"!
During these rather stressful times, it is very comforting to realize that "What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and grief to bear, What a privilege to carry, Everything to God in prayer".
We serve a glorious Lord!
Erv
Thanks for "What A Friend", Erv. I think you left out an F lever in the 9th measure at the 11th fret. Other rookies like myself may wonder for days what they're doing wrong. I'm also not sure what your E lever does, but I wasn't playing anything for an E lever there anyway. Anyway, great work. I'm sure you just forgot to write the F lever on that one measure.

Gary,
If you notice, in the 9th measure, we are picking the 9th string, not the 8th. This gives us the 7th chord. It wouldn't make any difference if you were pushing the F lever or not as that lever affects the 4th and 8th strings and we aren't picking either of these strings in this measure. My E lever lowers the 4th string and the 8th string E to Eb.

Russ, Jim, Jeff & Robert,
Your tabs are going out today! Rick, if you send me your snail mail address, I can get some out to you.
Make a joyful noise.
Erv
Thanks Erv. I didn't notice it was on the D strings. But I do like the slide up with the F lever too. One more way to play it I guess. I call the e to d# lever the D lever in my tabs.
